Expenses by Level Pie Chart

To show expenses by level in a pie chart:

Click Dials in
the Component Library.

Expand the Starter Dials folder.

Mouse over the Expenses by Level Pie Chart dial and click the small button that appears on the right side of its name.

Click Copy dial to company folder. The Add item to company folder dialog appears.

Select your company folder, name the dial Expenses by Level - Pie, and click Add.

Expand the company dials folder.

Click the Expenses by Level - Pie dial and drag it to the location where you want it to appear (if you’re working in the Visual Designer, you can just click it to open it).

Click Data Settings in the Editors menu.

Select whichever account you want the dial to display from the Account drop-down (in this case, PL Expense). You can select any account available in your model: just drill into the accounts or metrics tree using the plus icons.

Customize the Name and Abbreviation of the account (in this case, Expenses and Exp.).

Set Category Dimension to Region.

Click Apply. The following shows the result:

Click Chart Settings in the Editors menu.

From the Legend Style drop-down menu, select Standard.

Try a few different legend positions until you find one you like (remember to click Apply to see changes reflected on the dial). Below, Wide - Bottom Left is selected.

Click Apply, then Close.
