Numeric Display Dial
Version: DashboardsClassic
Numeric display dials give you a high-level view of a specific data series. The dial consists of a data point (in this case, the current actuals EBITDA) and its trend over time (in the small area chart). A sample of this appears below.

To make a numeric display dial:
-
Click Edit In Place
(or open the Visual Designer if you prefer).
-
Expand the Component Library (edit in place only) by clicking Expand
.
-
Expand the folders in the Data components menu until you find a data series (EBITDA in this example) you want to include in the grid dial.
-
Drag the data series onto the dashboard where you want to store the grid dial.
The Create New... dialog opens. -
Select Numeric Display Dial from the list of dial types.
-
Enter a name for your new dial.
-
Select the folder in which you want to store your grid dial.
-
Click Create.
To add a second series to show the data point’s variance from another data point in the EBITDA (Budget) value, do the following:
-
Click the EBITDA dial to select it.
-
From the Editors menu, click Data Settings.
-
Click Add.
-
Select the data series, version, and so on. In this example, add the series EBITDA with version set to Budget.
-
Click Apply.
-
Click Close.
You’re done. You can configure a Numeric Display dial by opening Numeric Display Settings from the Editors pane.
